GRANT SCHEME FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF ENERGY-INTENSIVE ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES IN HOMES OF VULNERABLE CONSUMERS OF ELECTRICITY
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION PROVIDE GUIDELINES TO THE APPLICANTS OF THE ABOVE SCHEME WHICH HAVE RECEIVED PRE-APPROVAL
It is reminded that in the first stage, the applicants will have to submit a "PRE-APPROVAL APPLICATION" in order to be designated as beneficiaries of the Scheme.
Applicants who have received Pre-Approval must, within eight (8) months, purchase/install the electrical appliances and submit - through the electronic system - "APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDING".
ACCORDING TO THE GRANT SCHEME, APPLICANTS HAVE THE POSSIBILITY TO BUY UP TO FIVE (5) ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AS FOLLOWS:

up to three (3) air conditioners and/or
-
up to one (1) washing machine and/or
-
up to one (1) refrigerator
With the purchase of each device, the beneficiaries must deliver for recycling purposes the corresponding old device to the Supplier (Point of Sale). For air conditioners the old device can alternatively be delivered to the Installer.
It is emphasized that FOR EACH APPLIANCE the applicant must provide a signed Certificate from the Supplier (Point of Sale) in standard form. The standard Certificate forms, by type of device, are listed at the following links:
Therefore, it is VERY IMPORTANT for applicants to make sure that when purchasing each device, they will secure the corresponding Certificate signed by the Supplier.
IMPORTANT POINTS TO BE CAREFUL OF:

To be eligible, Applicants must, within eight (8) months, purchase and install the electrical appliances at their own risk and, within eight (8) months, also submit an “Application for Sponsorship Payment "through the system - SEE PARAGRAPH (A) below for more information.

The devices they will buy, in order to be eligible, will have to meet specific criteria which, among other things, relate to their energy efficiency - SEE PARAGRAPH (B) below for more information.
A. IMPLEMENTATION OF INVESTMENT AND SUBMISSION OF "APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDING"

According to the provisions of the Grant Scheme (GR): "Applicants who will receive Pre-Approval must, within eight (8) months, purchase and install the electrical appliances and submit - through the electronic system -" APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDING".

No extension of the deadline of eight (8) months is granted. Please see paragraph 7, point 12 (page 8) of the Grant Scheme, in case, for any reason, you are unable to complete the investment and submit an "APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDING" within the period of eight (8) months.

Detailed Invoices concerning the purchase of the electrical appliances. See paragraph 12 of the Grant Scheme regarding the mandatory content and the requirements that the Invoices must meet in order to be accepted. In case the invoices have been issued in a different name from that of the applicant, an additional Certificate must be submitted.

The Energy Label of each device.

A signed Certificate from the Supplier (Point of Sale) of each device in standard form, as follows:
Β. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS OF THE ELECTRICAL APPLIANCESNew electrical appliances, in order to be eligible, must at least meet the following energy requirements:
REFRIGERATORS:

The energy efficiency class of the refrigerator must be D or higher

It is emphasized that the new energy labels for refrigerators that apply as from 01/03/2021 use the scale from A to G.

DO NOT buy a refrigerator whose energy label uses the old scale (scales with "+", eg A ++) as there is a serious risk that it will not be eligible.

GRANT AMOUNT: €400 for refrigerators of total capacity of up to 449 lt or €600 for refrigerators of mixed capacity over 450 lt.
WASHING MACHINE:

The energy efficiency class of the washing machine must be C or higher.

It is emphasized that the new energy labels for the washing machines that apply as from 01/03/2021 use the scale from A to G.

DO NOT buy a washing machine whose energy label uses the old scale (scales with "+", eg A ++) as there is a serious risk that it will not be eligible.

GRANT AMOUNT: €300 for washing machines with a capacity of up to 8.9 Kg or €400 for washing machines with a capacity of more than 9 Kg.
AIR CONDITIONERS:

The energy efficiency class for air conditioning units must be A ++ or higher for cooling AND A + or higher for heating in the "middle" heating season.

GRANT AMOUNT: €300 for air conditioners with a capacity of up to 3.99 kW (13,650 BTU/hr) in cooling or €500 for air conditioners with a capacity of more than 4 kW (13,650 BTU/hr) in cooling.

Regarding air conditioners, the installation costs of air conditioners are also eligible, provided that:
(a) are invoiced separately, and
(b) the installer of the air conditioner is registered in the Register of Installers of Technical Systems of Buildings in Category B - Installers of Technical Equipment for Air Conditioning and Ventilation Systems. Installation costs incurred by persons who are not registered in the Register are NOT eligible.
It is clarified that the cost of installing the air conditioner is offset by the cost of purchasing the air conditioner to calculate the total cost and to calculate the grant amount. It is understood that the final amount of sponsorship for each air conditioner can not exceed the amounts listed above (i.e. €300 for capacity up to 3.99 kW in cooling or €500 for capacity over 4 kW).
VAT IS NOT AN ELIGIBLE EXPENDITURE.
In case the purchase cost (excluding VAT) is less than the sponsorship amount of the device for which an application is submitted, then the amount of the sponsorship will be equal to the purchase cost (excluding VAT).
